Celebrating successful examination results

Students and staff at TDMS are celebrating this summer following the release of A Level and GCSE results. Students collected their results and are now preparing for the next stage of their lives. Whatever their destination, we are immensely proud of the achievements of every one of our students.
We would like to thank our parents and carers for the support they have provided throughout the year, as well as recognising the dedication and hard work of our staff, who have worked tirelessly to help students reach their potential.
Sixth Form Success
This year’s KS5 results demonstrate the positive impact of the teaching, guidance and support students receive in our Sixth Form. Students achieved 75% A*-C grades, alongside positive value-added across all Level 3 measures: A Level, Academic and Applied General.
Positive value-added means that, on average, our students have achieved better outcomes than would have been expected when compared with students nationally who had similar starting points. This is a strong indication of the progress students make during their time at TDMS.
Our Year 13 students are now moving on to an exciting range of destinations. Those heading to university this September will be attending institutions across the UK, including Bath Spa, Exeter, Lancaster, Liverpool Hope, Plymouth, Worcester and York. Reflecting the academic interests and talents of this year group, students will study a wide range of courses, from Law and Psychology to History, Sport & Exercise Science, Criminology and Marine Biology. Others will be taking up apprenticeships or employment with training opportunities across sectors including healthcare, hospitality and the police.
We wish all our Year 13 students every success as they take their next steps.
Outstanding Individual Achievements
Honourable mentions go to Theo, Tommy, Will and Viktoria, who collectively achieved an impressive 15 grades, including three A*s and five As. Theo is set to join the University of Exeter to study Finance: Business Management, while Tommy will take up his place at the University of York to study Biology. Will is heading north to UCFB’s Manchester Campus to study Football Business and Media, while Viktoria will travel to Bulgaria to begin her Medicine degree at Burgas State University.
Different directions, exciting destinations and bright futures!
GCSE Success
Following our best Year 13 results in a decade, we were delighted to celebrate improved GCSE results this summer too. Top honours go to Amelia, who achieved an outstanding 11 grades at 9-7, including Further Maths, and Aron, who achieved eight grades at 9-7. Both students will continue their educational journey at TDMS.
There were also excellent individual performances from Florence, Jay, Erin and Harry, who between them achieved an impressive 16 grades at 9-7.
This year has seen a pleasing rise in KS4 attainment, with more students achieving the important English and Maths grades, alongside some excellent results in Business, French and Sport. We are also celebrating the achievements of students who have made exceptional progress from their individual starting points. While not every success is measured by a grade 9-7, these students have demonstrated ambition, resilience and commitment to achieving their personal best. Their progress is something of which they, their families and the whole TDMS community can be extremely proud.
A celebration of our whole school community
These results reflect the hard work, determination and commitment of our students throughout their time at TDMS, supported by the dedication of our staff and the encouragement of parents and carers.
We are incredibly proud of all our students and wish them every success in the exciting journeys ahead.
